Featured Farm

Besteyfield Farm, Charlotte, VT

Besteyfield Farm provides the Intervale Food Hub with beautiful fresh pasture-raised eggs all year round. Ben Butterfield is a recent graduate of the Intervale Center's Farms Program, where he was able to grow his new business on land in the Intervale, with support from Intervale Center staff for business planning and technical support. His chickens made the move from the Intervale to their new home in Charlotte in the fall of 2016. Ben's hens are raised on pasture in warmer months, and in greenhouses during colder months. Their pasture diet is supplemented with lots of fresh food scraps. You'll see the difference the hens' healthy diet makes in their bright orange yolks!
