“I really enjoyed having plenty of food to share with friends and family. I also loved getting vegetables I won't necessarily buy in the grocery store. It was great to spend less time shopping and more time creating tasty, healthy meals!” -- Margaret C.
"Food has been amazing! It is great to have fresh local food! I also loved trying a lot of new products through the Omnivore package. Delivery has been great! Easy, convenient, and reliable!” -- Denise K.
"This is our second season with the Food Hub and we love the convenient pick-up options and the variety of items in our share -- our fridge has been overflowing with abundance! We love getting the email newsletter each week to see what will be in our share, and the recipe suggestions are a great head-start… Thanks for all that you do, we're really happy to be part of the Food Hub.” -- Eli A.
The Intervale Food Hub is committed to offering the best local food available in Vermont, through local food subscriptions and wholesale purchasing. Our community of farmers and food makers are at the heart of everything we do. We have close relationships with all of our producers, and our goal is to provide 100% transparency and traceability so that you can get to know them, too.
As a mission-driven business, the Intervale Food Hub supports the Intervale Center's work to sustain healthy farms, land, and people. Our food comes from a community of Vermont farmers and food makers who are dedicated to using safe, sustainable practices to bring us delicious, healthy, and nutritious food. We share the methods used for producing all of our food – whether it’s certified organic, pasture raised, grass fed, EcoApple, wild caught, or beyond. You will feel great about what you eat.
We strive to provide you with the highest quality food, and to provide transparency and traceability. We want you to feel great about what you eat. If at any point in time you are not 100% happy with food that you have received, please contact us.
No. When you sign up for the Intervale Food Hub, you join for the full season. Your commitment helps to support our community of farmers and food makers. We are here to support you throughout the season with recipes and cooking tips, and we encourage you to try new foods, new cooking techniques, and new recipes.
Your food will be delivered to your chosen delivery location, in a basket with your name on it, at the same day and time each week.
For Community and Workplace Delivery: Please bring your own bag and leave your basket at your delivery location. If you receive a thermal bag and/or ice packs, it’s OK to take them home - simply return them with your next pick up.
For Home Delivery: Your order will include a $20 deposit for your reusable packaging: a sturdy plastic tote and reusable cooler bags to keep your food safe and secure. We will deliver your food in thermal bags, placed in your plastic tote. Please leave empty thermal bags and ice packs in your tote for us to collect the next week!
The Vermont Vegetable is designed to provide an average of 30 servings of vegetables per week, and the Single Size Vermont Vegetable is designed to provide an average of 25 servings of vegetables per week. (This may vary slightly depending on what’s in season.) The USDA recommends 3 vegetable servings daily for one person, or 21 vegetable servings weekly - more for active individuals. This basket is good for one person who cooks often, two people who cook regularly, and is easy to eat with three or more people.
Remember, we’ll provide a weekly newsletter with cooking tips and recipes to support you as you try new foods!
If you know ahead of time that you can’t make a pick up, please make arrangements to have a friend, coworker, or family member pick up your food. Or, we would be happy to schedule an alternative pick-up at the Intervale Center or another public delivery location. We ask that you notify us of delivery changes at least 1 day in advance.
We do not pick up food after the pick-up window, and we do not offer credit for missed pick-ups. After the pick-up window, for food safety and site management purposes, food is donated at the discretion of our site champions so that it does not go to waste.
We understand that sometimes life does not go according to plan! So, we do offer a once-per-season replacement basket when you miss a pick up. Replacements are packed with on what we have available in our inventory, so specialty items might not be available for replacement. This food can be picked up at the Intervale Food Hub, or added to your next delivery. Contact us to schedule your replacement
