A 12 oz bag of coffee beans, grown by smallholder farmers at 1500-1800 meters in Papua New Guinea. Plum, brown sugar, and red currant tasting notes.
This new coffee from Papua New Guinea has us so excited. Its acidity can almost be compared to that of our latest Kenyan offerings. Fruit forward with notes of juicy plum and red currant, it also boasts a creamy mouthfeel and full body. We've been brewing up this beauty as drip and espresso and have been amazed by its balance in both formats. The sweetness can be described as brown sugar or molasses, rich and dark yet perfectly balanced with the fruity notes.
A new Papua New Guinea offering for us this year, Kunjin gets its name from the region where many of the local smallholder farmers grow these coffee beans. The lots are collected, sorted, separated, and cupped, all to ensure quality at the processing level of the coffee chain. These cherries are washed and fermented dry for 24 hours before they spend three to six days drying on tarpaulins.
